SEALABS

Ambiente Europeo supports with this project citizen science expeditions for vessel owners to get involved in smaller-scale marine research activities. Sailors who reach remote beaches and cover vast areas during their ocean crossings can help us gather important up-to-date information about the state of the open ocean and data about marine debris.

We want to find out more about seawater quality, salinity and temperatures, and take samples for microplastic contamination.

microplastic

82,000--578,000 tons of microplastics are in the world's oceans, but the actual amount is likely to be much greater.

Acidity vs. alkalinity

Over the last 200 years ocean water has seen a 30 percent increase in acidity as the pH of surface ocean water has fallen by 0.1pH units.

Temperature

Sea temperatures affect ocean circulation, global weather patterns, and marine ecosystems.

salt extraction & concentration

Changes in salinity impact ocean currents and the climate in which we live.

SAND &
SEDIMEnt
SAMPLES

Oceans sediments are an indicator of health, climate conditions and it changes.
